Leda Anderson of Events Held Dear in Columbus, Ohio was someone I have come to know in the Instagram world. After talking with one another for a few years we had a perfect opportunity to meet with the birth of her son, Beau. Being an Ohio family photographer is always wonderful with babies like this little one! He and his parents were so full of love. This makes family photography one of my favorite things to do.
We found the most perfect setting for their family to settle in and love one another. The farmhouse and grounds of Old Slate Farm provided a quiet, comfortable, and stunning location. With a style along the lines of minimalist modern farmhouse, it felt like home to everyone right away. The whole family relaxed and enjoyed each other’s company whether mama nursed her baby or papa held him.
When you are driving down the interstate it is easy to miss the houses scattered among the fields. One of those houses is Old Slate Farm. Both a florist and a shepherd call this farm home. And they work to find the home in the midst of their work. Because of this there are few places that are as beautiful as the Old Slate Farm and its buildings. It has lovely old trees, beautiful cut flower gardens, and wide open fields for their sheep. As an Ohio family photographer it was a wonderful experience to find such a lush, fertile location to highlight the love of this growing family.
Thank you Leda and Zach for giving me the pleasure of Beau’s first photo session. With that smile and those eyes I am sure there will be many more to come! And thank you to Old Slate Farm for letting us borrow your home and work space.
